Study on UN budget and financing issues PDF Print

The study on budget and financing will be performed by Professor Francisco Sagasti and his research team. Through interviews and other information gathering work they are expected to conclude a report identifying the most urgent problems of budget and financing of the UN. Prof.Sagasti started his work in September and the report is due in December.

Financial governance is today fragmented. The regular budget represents far less than half of the total budget. The rest consists of various voluntary contributions and several hundred trust funds and special accounts. Yet, the present governance system focuses on the regular budget. It should be in the interest of all parties to establish a governance structure that deals with the total budget.
