Public seminar on UN reforms in Stockholm |

Former President of the UN General Assembly, Mr. Jan Eliasson, participated in a panel debate on UN reforms in Stockholm on October 17th. The seminar was organised by the 4NI in cooperation with the Swedish Institute for International Affairs. Mr. Eliasson and Ambassador Bengt Säve Söderbergh discussed UN reforms from different perspectives. |

On Wednesday 4th October, the 4NI was officially introduced to the UN Member States. All Representatives to the UN were invited to a session in the Trusteeship Council Chamber/UN, where the 4NI Steering Committee presented the project. |

As a part of the second phase of the project – the assessment phase – the Four Nations Initiative will conduct three studies; on mandate and roles, governance, accountability and transparency, and budget and finance. The Initiative is now glad to announce that the first of these studies, budget and finance, has been started. On Friday September 8th a contract was signed with Professor Francisco Sagasti, Peru. |
